Our Church’s History
Sent out of Bible Baptist Church of National City led by Pastor Larry Obero, Pastor Carlos Serrano, with his wife and three children at the time, came to Delano in March of 2008. They moved into a studio apartment located on 5th Avenue just a few hundred feet away from what would become the first temporary locale for Bible Baptist Church. It was a clubhouse that the apartment complex had rented out to several other organizations in the past. The first offered rental rate was too much, but God answered our prayer by having the landlord drop it down to half with free utilities. God used this building to begin a work that would soon grow into a thriving ministry.
Since the organization of the church in 2009, God began to bring people into Bible Baptist Church through doorknocking, witnessing, and follow-up. Many people have been saved, baptized, and added to the church. One-on-one discipleship Bible studies have helped many to grow and begin to serve the Lord in areas such as nursery, children’s church, and soulwinning.
As God began to fill up the 5th Avenue location, we knew He was leading us to move ahead to where we would have more room to grow and minister to others. Within months, He showed us where Bible Baptist Church’s new home would be – 1323 Main Street, a building with 3600 square feet on a parcel of 15,000 square feet. Previously occupied by a church, there were minimal renovations to be made, and God provided for them all through the faithful giving of His people. From fresh paint, to new carpet, to the fire alarm system, to the laborers and volunteers that would work to bring it all together, God showed us what He could do to bring the vision to life.
Since the move into the new building, in June of 2012, God has allowed us to “enlarge our coast” by adding a teen Sunday school class and a Spanish ministry to Bible Baptist Church.
On October 12, 2014 through God’s leading, Bible Baptist Church of Delano, CA voted unanimously to call Bro. Ryan Villaver, a graduate of Heartland Baptist Bible College ’14 to be their new pastor, and on Dec. 6, 2014 Bro. Villaver was ordained to the Gospel ministry. And on December 7, 2014, Bro. Villaver was formally installed as the new pastor as Pastor Carlos Serrano stepped down from his position of leadership by the calling of God to take on another ministry.
After many years of fervent prayers & fastings, the LORD has opened a door for Bible Baptist Church to purchase its own property. Under an Interim Occupancy Agreement, the church moved to that new location (1101 11th Avenue) on December 18, 2016. And on February 2, 2017, Bible Baptist Church became the new owner of the property. Glory to God!
Bible Baptist Church is a young, thriving church in Delano, California. Located in the heart of Delano, souls are being touched by God’s unchanging hand and reached through the preaching of His Word.
Our Mission
Our mission is God’s mission. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus told His disciples, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” We understand from the Bible that it is our mission to fulfill this task both in Delano and in the rest of the world.

A Bible Baptist is one who believes in a supernatural Bible, which tells of a supernatural Christ, Who had a supernatural birth, Who spoke supernatural words, Who performed supernatural miracles, Who lived a supernatural life, Who died a supernatural death, Who rose in supernatural power, Who ascended in supernatural splendor, Who intercedes as a supernatural priest and who will one day return in supernatural glory to establish a supernatural kingdom on this earth.
